Rising from the dampened earth
Reeling from the darkened terra-firm
This anxiety it cripples me
Caustic ties to what lies before me

Pursued through the vapor a presence indistinct
A shiver down my spine a ripple through my skin
Echoes carried by the trees attempt to deceive

Hold of me
I can't escape
I'm trembling
With every wave
I feel the cold
Seep through me

I'm choking on the taste of iron
A fleshy mass of blood and bile
Lugubrious
And then it's gone

I watch my hands unfold to ash
A scorched and searing aftermath
It falls away
Yet they remain

Who I was before
Dwindling

Reaching through the thorns
Lacerated and raw
My spirit starts to fade into this pitch black maw
I fall into lament
A prayer spoken to repent
Visions distort my reality
This rare breed of catastrophe

Shallow

Familiar
Sensation have I been here before
Retreading ground
I see my footprints sinking bellow
This undertow resurfaces
I see myself with realisation and clarity
Nothing I can do to repent this torrid cycle

Once again exhumed from the ground
Looking down at a grave disturbed more than once has this been my home for how Many years

Is this my fate
No chance to negotiate
Trapped in this realm
A sadistic mind, at the helm
Repeated travesties
Deepest fears known only to me
A nightmare conceived
By an unknown deity
Nothing left to lose
I laugh at the skies
Is this just a joke with a sickening punchline
